The operator presents two barrels. As well as a large metal disc pierced with holes and four large metal rods as well. Each object can be checked by the spectators who are called as witnesses. The disc is placed on one of the barrels. The assistant enters the stage wearing a belt with a ring attached to it. In this ring the illusionist passes a 6 to 8 meter long rope through and ties it in the middle to the ring. The assistant climbs onto the disc covering the barrel and stands on it while the magician passes one end of the rope through the central opening of the disc and pulls it out through the bung of the barrel before giving it to one of the spectators to hold. He places the second barrel on top of the first, thus masking the subject. The other end of the rope is passed through the bung of the upper barrel and then handed to a second spectator. Thus, the subject appears to be held by the rope and trapped in the upper barrel. At the command of the artist, the first spectator pulls on the rope (lower end) and the upper end is seen entering the barrel. The four rods are pushed one by one into holes in the upper part of the lower barrel (under the metal disc, therefore), which does not, however, prevent the subject from passing through the disc into the lower barrel. This does not, however, prevent the subject from passing through the disc into the lower barrel. Indeed, the upper barrel is removed and the subject no longer rests on the disc. In turn, the disc is removed as well as the rods, the subject is well in the lower barrel and still attached to the rope.
