A very beautiful illusion that Goldin presented in the following way: A trunk rested on a platform four feet high, an assistant opened the lid, a woman helped by the magician sat on it and the lid was folded down. From the hanger came down a frame with curtains, forming a canopy. Then, when the trunk was topped with this system, the magician seemed to fix the trunk to the frame with four chains. The whole thing was raised halfway up the stage. The empty platform was pushed backstage. When the shot was fired, the canopy fell to the ground: trunk and subject had disappeared.
