You're showing a little guillotine. You show how it works by slicing 2 cigarettes at once in the holes made for this purpose.
Then you replace a cigarette with the finger (borrowed!) of a spectator. You drop the blade: the finger is intact while the cigarette is cut.

An extremely well-made model: it is examinable and almost transparent.
The system for engaging the mechanism is completely ingenious and totally undetectable.
